Instructions

  • Open a current-generation web browser from any Internet-connected desktop, laptop, tablet, or smartphone.

Outlook on the web works on virtually any screen size, including smartphones.

  • Visit this website address: outlook.office365.com

  • To sign in, enter your formal work email address and click or tap Next

  • Enter your regular Windows / PC / email password and click or tap Sign in

  • If you’re outside the Franklin County network, you must authorize your remote login via PingID. This requires prior setup, as noted at the start of these instructions.

If you’re inside the Franklin County network, skip to the next step.

  • If you’re on your own device and plan to login to your webmail regularly, click or tap Yes.

    • On public or shared devices, you should probably click or tap No, just to be safe.

  • Once you’ve successfully logged in, you’ll be dropped into your email Inbox, ready to read and send email, check your calendar, look up contacts, and so forth.

  • Outlook on the web now has many, many options to customize your experience and make using Outlook online easier and more efficient.

To access a complete list of preferences and options, including things like signatures, mail rules, automatic replies (out-of-office messages), and more, click or tap the Gear icon in the upper-right corner of your browser window, then click or tap the View all Outlook settings link in the bottom-right of your browser window.

  • If you plan to use Outlook online regularly, we recommend you spend some time looking through and trying out all the relevant preferences.

Congratulations!

You’ve got access to the Outlook online website and can check your Franklin County email, calendar, and more from anywhere at any time.
