Google Chrome: Export Bookmarks
This article will teach you how to export bookmarks from Google Chrome.
Here are some reasons why we would want to do this.
Safeguard against data loss: Accidents happen, and hardware failures or software issues can sometimes lead to losing your bookmarks. Exporting them creates a backup copy that you can use to restore your bookmarks if needed.
Switch devices or browsers: Should you move to a new computer or switch to a different browser? Exporting your Chrome bookmarks allows you to easily import them into your new environment, saving time and effort manually recreating them.
Share specific bookmarks: Need to share a few websites with someone? Instead of sending them individually, you can export specific bookmarks you want to share and send them the HTML file.
Instructions
Open Google Chrome.
Access the Bookmark Manager:
a. Click the “three vertical dots” in the top right corner of the Chrome window.
b. Hover over "Bookmarks" in the dropdown menu (It may appear as “Bookmarks and lists“.
c. Select "Bookmark manager".
Export your bookmarks:
a. Click the “three vertical dots” again in the top right corner of the Bookmark manager window.
b. Select "Export bookmarks".
Choose a location and name:
a. A file dialog will appear. Choose your computer's “Desktop” location to save the exported favorites file.
