Microsoft Edge: Import Favorites

This article will teach you how to import favorites that were previously exported.

 Instructions

  1. Open Microsoft Edge.

  2. Click on the “Favorites menu” in the top right corner of the browser window.

  3. In the Favorites panel, click on the “three-dot menu”.

  4. Choose “Import favorites”.

  5. Choose any of the “Import” options.

  6. Change the “Import from” dropdown to “Favorites or bookmarks HTML file“.

  7. Ensure “Favorites or bookmarks” is checked, then click “Choose file“.

  8. A file dialog will appear. Choose your computer's “Desktop” location

  9. Select the exported favorites file (usually an HTML file). Note: the icon next to the file will represent the computer's default browser, NOT what browser they were exported from.

  10. Select the file and click “Open”.

  11. The time it takes to import your favorites will depend on how many favorites you have.
