Google Chrome: Import Bookmarks

This article will teach you how to import bookmarks that were previously exported.

 Instructions

  1. Open Google Chrome.

  2. Access the Bookmark Manager:

a. Click the “three vertical dots” in the top right corner of the Chrome window.

b. Hover over "Bookmarks" in the dropdown menu (It may appear as “Bookmarks and lists“.

c. Select "Bookmark manager".

  1. Import your bookmarks:

a. Click the “three vertical dots” again in the top right corner of the bookmark manager window.

b. Select "Import bookmarks".

  1. Choose a location and name:

a. A file dialog will appear. Choose your computer's “Desktop” location.

b. Choose the bookmark file (usually an HTML file). Note: the icon next to the file will represent the computer's default browser, NOT what browser they were exported from.

c. Click "Open".

e. The time it takes to import your favorites will depend on how many favorites you have.
