3.0 Intune - Application Requests
The Application Library houses all business critical applications for agencies. Applications are vetted, reviewed, and approved by the Intune and security teams.
Pre-requisites for Application Approval
Application Requests must be domestic or US-based. Applications will be reviewed by the security team and determined if they are suited for the Company Portal environment.
Types of Applications
An Application Library was created based on feedback from agencies regarding the work critical applications that are used every day. The Types of Applications made available for users include:
Required Applications will automatically install upon the enrollment of Intune. (Outlook, Teams)
Optional Applications will be made available in the Application Library once Intune is installed
(e.g. Managed Google Play Store for Android, Company Portal Apps for iOS).
Application Request Information
Who can submit an Application Request?
Requesters (IT Contacts or Approved Contacts) can submit a LINK request to start the Application Request process.
Agency Employees must communicate any requests to their designated contact (IT Contacts or Approved Contacts).
Request Process for a Free Application
Notify your Business Relationship Manager (BRM) that you will be filing an Application Request.
File a LINK request with the following information:
Application Name
Publisher (Company Name)
Licensing Requirements
Business Justification - How is the application being used for your agency?
Once the LINK request is submitted, the application in question will undergo a Security review.
If the Application is approved, the Business Relationship Manager (BRM) will confirm and communicate that the Application has been added to the Application Library.
If the Application is rejected, the application will not get added to the Application Library and the Business Relationship Manager (BRM) will notify of the rejected status.
Upon Approval of an Application, the Application will be made available in the Company Portal.
The Intune Administrators will add the user to the required group if one is needed.

Android - Samsung Knox
Google Play Store does not have paid applications, therefore, there is no process.
Managed Google Play no longer supports the ability to purchase app licenses. Your organization can still manage and request refunds for the app licenses it already owns. However, it won't be possible to purchase any additional licenses. (https://support.google.com/googleplay/work/answer/6150398?hl=en )
Removal of an Application
If any application is identified as being a risk for the security of the device or data then this application will be removed from the application library. If users have already downloaded this application onto their device the next time this device checks in with the Intune platform it will be deemed as NOT COMPLIANT with the platform and fall under to rules and processes that effect any non compliant device.
Corporate Devices
Depending on app policies, we can prevent users from removing applications from their device or, if they were to remove the application when the device checks back in, that application would reinstall due to its requirements.
Removing other applications can be done by the end user, applications have varying states of requirements for installation, some should automatically install if not detected, others are available in the Company Portal app library.
Blocking of an Application
If there is a mandated Federal, State-wide, or County-wide requirement to block an application, platform, and/or website on State-Owned and State-Leased Devices, the Franklin County Data Center will follow guidelines set forth by the regulation.
Applications can be blocked at a organization level so ANY device that is detected to have a banned or restricted application on the device will be classed as non-compliant until the application is removed.
Corporate devices should not encounter this as the only applications you can install are from the approved list of applications that are available in our application library.
