Introduction

If you need to access Franklin County email, calendars, contacts, OneDrive contents, our VPN, and many other services from remote sites (home, coffee shop, hotel, etc.) you must use a smartphone app called PingID.

This Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) app protects County data from security threats like account/password theft and remote user impersonation. In short, it proves you are who you say you are by combining something you know (your password) with something you have (your smartphone). The instructions below explain how to get PingID installed and setup on your smartphone.

Tip

When setting up MFA on a new smartphone device, please download the PingID app from your device's app store prior to completing these steps. Using the PingID app is recommended as it provides for a faster authentication process with a simple swipe to confirm you’re logging in.
