Installing GlobalProtect

SCCM will automatically install the GlobalProtect application on laptops and laptops get the client when imaged.

The steps listed below are for manually installing through Software Center

Manual Install through Software Center

Open the Software Center application

  • Click on Start

  • Type in Software Center

  • Click to open app

Select the Applications menu on the left

Click on the GlobalProtect application

Click Install

You will see the Installing prompt

When installed you see the Uninstall prompt

Configuring GlobalProtect VPN for First Time Use

Scroll down to the Welcome to GlobalProtect to enter the portal address if the application auto-starts after install

Click on Start

Type in GlobalProtect

Click on the GlobalProtect App

Enter fcohvpn.gpcloudservice.com into the portal access and click Connect (first time use only)

Note

Do not use https://fcohvpn.gpcloudservice.com - this will cause a connection failed error

Enter your credentials and click the Sign On button - enter will not work

Check and approve the PingID prompt on your registered device to authenticate

You are now connected to GlobalProtect VPN

Opening and Connecting to GlobalProtect VPN

Click on Start

Type in GlobalProtect

Click on the GlobalProtect App

Click on Connect

Screen changes to connecting

Enter your credentials and click the Sign On button - enter will not work

Check and approve the PingID prompt on your registered device to authenticate

You are now connected to GlobalProtect VPN. The icon in the task tray should now appear as follows:

By clicking on the icon you should also receive confirmation that you are connected and be given the option to disconnect.

Signing Out of GlobalProtect

Click on “Show Hidden Icons” on your status bar Show Hidden Icons

Select the GlobalProtect icon

Click on the Disconnect button

Once disconnected you will see the Connect button

Note

While connected to the GlobalProtect VPN, all your device’s Internet traffic flows through the County firewall, with all rules and logging in effect. Disconnect from the VPN to resume “normal” Internet service.
