Microsoft Teams (New)
Introduction
The new Teams desktop client is reimagined from the ground up with performance in mind, providing a faster, simpler, and more flexible experience. The new Teams client loads faster, letting you launch the app and join meetings more quickly and giving you more time to focus on the business tasks.
The new Teams ensures more efficient use of device resources.
After July 31, 2024, any classic Teams users that haven't updated to new Teams will be automatically updated to new Teams. To learn more, see End of availability for classic Teams client.
Client Installation
The Data Center will be pushing the new Microsoft Teams client to users starting on March 4th, 2024. The installation will happen in the background with no interaction from the users. Once it is finished, they will see a pop-up inside Microsoft Teams (Classic) indicating that the new version has been installed with a prompt to switch or stay on the old version.
Client Usage
You can continue to use Microsoft Teams - Classic until July 31, 2024. After that, Microsoft will force the update to the new client automatically.
If you want to switch to the new Teams client, you can use the toggle option in the classic client or the new launcher.
