How to install and use GlobalProtect VPN on macOS
Installing GlobalProtect
Connect to https://fcohvpn.gpcloudservice.com/
Sign in with your current county credentials and click on Sign On (enter will not work)
Authenticate with PingID
NOTE: The sign in screen will not change to prompt that it is awaiting PingID so you will need to check for the alert as soon as you click Sign On.
Click on GlobalProtect Agent (top right)
Click Download Mac 32/64 bit GlobalProtect agent.
When prompted, Run the software
When prompted again, Run the GlobalProtect Installer
From the GlobalProtect Installer, click Continue
On the Destination Select screen, select the installation folder for the GlobalProtect app, and then click Continue
On the Installation Type screen, select the GlobalProtect installation package check box, and then click Continue
Click Install to confirm that you want to install GlobalProtect
Enter your User Name and Password and click Install Software
After installation is complete, Close the installer
After install, you will receive a security message to allow system extensions from Palo Alto Networks to run.
Click Open Security Preferences to open the Security & Privacy screen
Click the padlock icon, in the lower left to make changes
In the Allow apps downloaded from section select “App Store and identified developers”
Click Allow
Configuring GlobalProtect VPN for First Time Use
Launch the GlobalProtect app from the menu bar
The status panel opens
Enter fcohvpn.gpcloudservice.com into the portal address and click Connect (first time use only)
Enter your credentials and click the Sign On button - enter will not work
Check and approve the PingID prompt on your registered device to authenticate
You are now connected to GlobalProtect VPN
Opening and Connecting to GlobalProtect VPN
Launch the GlobalProtect app by clicking the system tray icon
The status panel opens
Click Connect to initiate the connection
Enter your credentials and click the Sign On button - enter will not work
Check and approve the PingID prompt on your registered device to authenticate
You are now connected to GlobalProtect VPN
When the app connects in external mode, the GlobalProtect system tray icon displays a shield
Signing Out of GlobalProtect
Launch the GlobalProtect app by clicking the system tray icon
The status panel opens
Click Disconnect to disconnect
Once disconnected you will see the Connect button
While connected to the GlobalProtect VPN, all your device’s Internet traffic flows through the County firewall, with all rules and logging in effect. Disconnect from the VPN to resume “normal” Internet service.
